Introducing Alexa
Raised on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Alexa’s sound carries that perfect mix of sunshine, chaos, nostalgia, and late-night energy. 🌊✨ From sneaking into illegal raves at 15 to spending five years immersed in London’s underground scene, music has always been at the centre of her world.
Filmed live at Hashima Surf House, Alexa brings a higher-energy side of house — playful, driving, and built to move people. 🔥 Influenced by everything from The Rolling Stones, Steely Dan, and Hall & Oates to 90s hip hop legends like A Tribe Called Quest and Biggie, her sets blend groove, attitude, and pure dancefloor fun. Expect rolling basslines, cheeky UKG flavours, and those dirty late-night house moments that lock a room in together. 🔊🌴
After years spent front left on the dancefloor, Alexa stepped behind the decks in 2023 and hasn’t looked back since. We’re seriously excited to have her on board and even more excited for you to hear this one. 🚨🎶
How I Got Into DJing
After spending many years front left on the dancefloor, I finally decided in 2023 that it was my time to step to the other side. I bought myself some decks, started teaching myself, and slowly began turning all those years of dancing, listening, and feeling the room into my own way of selecting music. Growing up on the Northern Beaches, then moving to London at 21 and experiencing so much club culture there, definitely shaped the way I connect with dance music. That first illegal rave at 15 changed everything for me!
Favourite Styles & Genres
My taste is pretty eclectic, thanks to a mix of influences growing up. My parents had me surrounded by The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Steely Dan, Hall & Oates, and all the best of 70s yacht rock, while my brother introduced me to 90s hip hop like 2Pac, Biggie, A Tribe Called Quest, and De La Soul. My sister brought the 90s house influence, which definitely stuck with me. These days, I have the most fun at 3am in a dark room with a bunch of strangers, locked into dirty, driving house. I also have a big soft spot for UKG — playful, nostalgic, bouncy, and always fun.
Best & Worst Haircut
My favourite haircut is definitely what I’m rocking now: a cute bob with a fringe. I’ve had it for years, and it’s become a bit of a signature look for me.
My worst haircut, without a doubt, was a mullet in high school. It was during the first wave of the mullet comeback, and I fully committed to the edgy vibe. Looking back, it was a very questionable choice for a teenage girl from the Beaches — but at least I went all in.
