How I Got Into DJing
I first got into DJing during COVID. At the time, I didn’t have a job, but after nearly eight years in radio, I already had a strong knack for entertaining and curating music. A close friend with over 20 years of DJ experience encouraged me to take the leap, and that mix of radio background and mentorship gave me the foundation to start building my own style.
Favourite Styles & Genres
I’ve always taken pride in playing a wide range of styles — from RnB to house, UKG, and techno. While I appreciate them all, house music is what inspires me most. I’m drawn to tracks around 130bpm, especially those with live elements like saxophone or trumpet, or a strong hook that lifts the crowd.
Standout Influences
A huge influence on my journey was my time at Old Soul in Maroochydore. The level of DJs there pushed me beyond just blending tracks — it taught me set planning, selection, timing, and technical finesse. It was where I really began to find my identity as a DJ, and it still shapes the way I play today.
